Primary Accountabilities
•Create a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by facilitating and fostering trust, transparency, and inclusion. Work with team members to set clear goals, provide feedback, perform performance assessments, and support on-going development.
•Lead with influence and expertise. Contribute to division or department leadership team. Communicate and support organization mission, vision, values, policies, and practices.
•Manage the underwriting activities of risk analysis, risk selection, and appropriate applications of coverages. Monitor appropriate authority levels for underwriters based on skill level. •Establishes training programs to build technical expertise.
•Maintains an awareness of industry and delivery system trends impacting risk selection.
•Directs and manages the underwriting of unique, complex policies.
•Ensure compliance of underwriting operations with state and federal regulations and divisional policies and procedures. Research and respond to field, customer, and insurance department complaints. •Implements policies and practices to promote profit and growth.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
•Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
•Demonstrated effective management or leadership experience.
•Demonstrated underwriting experience in area of expertise (specific products or line).
•Solid knowledge and understanding of insurance, underwriting guidelines and risk concepts in area of expertise.
•Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills to review complex cases and/or review lines or books of business.

In this hybrid role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from the office. Candidates should reside within approximately 50 miles of one of the following office locations: Madison, WI 53783; Eden Prairie, MN 55343; St. Joseph, MO 64507; Phoenix, AZ 85034
