Role Summary
This role evaluates loan applications and ensures underwriting decisions align with regulatory requirements and internal policies. You’ll play a key role in maintaining credit quality while supporting compliance and process improvement efforts. It’s a strong opportunity to deepen your expertise in underwriting, compliance, and risk management.

Key Accountabilities

  • Analyze loan applications, including financial statements, tax returns, and credit reports, to support sound credit decisions

  • Evaluate underwriting decisions to ensure alignment with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements

  • Monitor and test loan file review processes to ensure compliance with HMDA, FCRA, and Reg B standards

  • Partner with lenders to structure compliant loan solutions and resolve application issues

  • Track, report, and analyze performance metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities

  • Support implementation of updates from compliance reviews and regulatory examinations

  • Maintain current knowledge of underwriting guidelines and federal and state lending regulations

Education & Experience

Required:

  • Associate’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of underwriting experience with knowledge of lending products, policies, and procedures

  • Experience with mortgage or consumer compliance requirements

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field

  • Experience supporting regulatory reviews, audits, or compliance reporting

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a lending environment
