Reinsurance Underwriting/Analytics Intern – Summer Internship (6–8 Weeks)

Hiscox Re is seeking 2 passionate, self-motivated, and numerically strong individuals to join its Reinsurance Underwriting and Analytics team in Bermuda as summer interns. This is a 6–8 week summer internship designed for someone who is keen to learn on the job from one of the most established and respected reinsurance teams in the market. The role is ideal for a driven team player with a genuine interest in reinsurance and global risk.
This summer internship will provide valuable insight into the world of reinsurance and will require hardworking, flexible individuals who are prepared to support the team across a wide range of activities. The successful candidate will be expected to turn their hand to any task, irrespective of size, contributing wherever needed to support underwriters, and analytics team – including but not limited to the Modeling, Research, Actuarial, and Operations functions. This hands-on approach is central to the role and offers a realistic view of how a high-performing reinsurance underwriting/analytics team operates.
During the 6–8 week summer placement, the interns may gain exposure to an array of experiences, including data analytics, project-based research, administrative and operational support, data cleansing, customer and portfolio analysis, modelling insights, report generation, actuarial, and other ad-hoc initiatives. The breadth of work ensures a varied and engaging internship, offering meaningful learning opportunities and practical experience within a leading global reinsurance environment.
