The Opportunity!

Are you someone who enjoys taking ownership of underwriting decisions across a diverse book of business?

We're looking for a driven, detail-oriented Underwriter to join our growing team. In this role, you'll evaluate risk, applying sound judgment, and delivering timely, competitive outcomes. You'll work side by side with sales teams and producers, serving as a trusted partner who helps drive new business while protecting the integrity of our portfolio.

A day in the life –

• Underwrite personal lines accounts, including Renewals, New policies, Endorsements

• Provide quotations for new business to producers

• Underwrite with our unique Lloyds in-house personal lines program

• Refer and discuss higher-risk / complex files with Senior Underwriters on the Team

• Ensure compliance with Lloyds contract agreements

• Regular communication with our Sales Teams

• Additional Underwriting duties as required

What you will bring to our team -

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

• A collaborative mindset to create and maintain relationships with team members and other departments

• Level 1 Insurance License is required; Level 2 is preferred.  

• Minimum of 2 years’ personal lines experience.

• Knowledge of all coverage lines.

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is an asset.

Salary Expectations –

The expected salary range for this position is $55,000.00 to $60,000.00 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include extended health benefits, disability insurance, RRSP matching, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, and commissions for some positions.
