Job Description

Rhombus Power seeks a highly motivated UI/UX Designer to join our fast-growing team, delivering complex enterprise solutions. 

We’re looking for colleagues that are intrinsically motivated to create polished user interfaces and interactions, positive experiences, and have a growth mindset. We want someone who’s looking to figure out that ‘Ok, but what’s next?’ portion of a problem, anticipating and proactively responding to the entirety of the UI/UX process. 

You’re motivated to understand user needs and behaviors and use that to drive product design and identify areas for improvement. You’ll be creating, reviewing, and iterating on wireframes, prototypes, and pixel-perfect designs and helping build out our design system!

The position requires U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Government Security clearance. It will be based in either Washington, D.C. (Right on the Yellow Line), or at our HQ in Palo Alto, California.

Responsibilities

• Creation of storyboards, wireframes, user journeys, mockups and prototypes to communicate and validate designs
• Conduct research and communicate with stakeholders and clients to deeply understand their goals and challenges
• Clearly and confidently present design concepts and key milestone deliverables to internal teams and key stakeholders
• Identify opportunities for design and process improvements and drive their implementation
• Work on multiple projects with varying levels of definition, UX engagement, time to complete, and expectations
• Help develop guidance/documentation for dev handoff and design specifications and components to ensure a cohesive design language
• Be engaged in helping develop team process and practices

Qualifications

• 3+ years of work experience in UI/UX Designer
• Strong and diverse portfolio showcasing UX and design skills. We’re looking for someone with an eye for design!
• Experience creating prototypes or wireframes for complex web applications, workflows, and data visualizations
• Fluency in best practices for HCD and usability principles and techniques.
• Expertise in xD, and/or Sketch to create high-fidelity mock-ups and prototypes
• Strong time-management skills and ability to self-manage effectively in a remote environment
• An eye for detail and a high bar for quality
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS and responsive design
• U.S. Citizenship, and the ability to obtain a Security Clearance

Nice To Have

• Relevant degree Design, HCD, HCI or similar
• Experience with visualization(s) of quantitative information
• Familiarity with graphing libraries like Highcharts
• Advanced Figma skills - Variables/Tokens, Logical operations etc
• Functional experience with web front-end technologies such as HTML/CSS, Bootstrap, Leaflet, React
• Experience with Storybook
• Illustration or Drawing skills - Can you make custom icons?
• Active clearance
