UI / React Technical Lead

Our DXC Assure BPM CoE help clients to modernize and automate enterprise workflows for Insurance Software and Business Processing Services. Leveraging the full capabilities of the ServiceNow platform, we deliver end-to-end digital transformation solutions that improve service delivery, enhance user experience, and drive operational efficiency.

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Lead with deep expertise in UI/React development, strong working knowledge of ServiceNow Service Portal, and experience with AngularJS. This role provides technical leadership across front-end initiatives on the ServiceNow platform, ensuring high-quality code delivery through architecture guidance, code reviews, mentorship, and hands-on development.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture

- Serve as the primary technical leader for UI/React and Service Portal development within the ServiceNow ecosystem.

- Define and enforce coding standards, UI architecture patterns, and reusable component frameworks.

- Review solution designs to ensure performance, scalability, accessibility, and maintainability.

- Make architectural recommendations for modernizing Service Portal experiences using React, AngularJS, or hybrid approaches.

- Partner with platform architects to align UI components with overall platform and enterprise architecture.

Code Reviews & Quality Assurance

- Conduct thorough code reviews across React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and Service Portal widget code.

- Ensure best practices in security, modular design, and component architecture.

- Identify technical debt and lead remediation strategies.

- Implement automated UI testing approaches such as Jest, Cypress, or React Testing Library.

ServiceNow Service Portal Engineering

- Lead development and customization of Service Portal widgets, themes, layouts, and front-end logic.

- Oversee integration between UI components and ServiceNow server-side scripts, Script Includes, GlideAjax, and REST APIs.

- Provide guidance on AngularJS-based widget development and modernization strategies.

Hands-On Development

- Contribute to complex front-end development tasks in React and/or AngularJS.

- Build and maintain modern, responsive UI components and reusable frameworks.

- Optimize performance of ServiceNow UI experiences across modules.

Collaboration & Delivery

- Work with product owners, designers, and analysts to shape requirements into scalable UI solutions.

- Guide sprint teams through estimation, planning, and risk management.

- Facilitate technical workshops and proof-of-concepts.

- Produce clear technical documentation including component libraries and standards.

Required Qualifications

- 6+ years of front-end development experience in React and JavaScript/TypeScript.

- 2+ years in a technical leadership role.

- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Service Portal, including AngularJS widget development.

- Strong understanding of REST APIs and asynchronous programming patterns.

- Experience conducting code reviews and mentoring developers.

- Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and accessibility.

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience modernizing AngularJS to React.

- Familiarity with Scoped Apps and back-end scripting.

- Experience with ServiceNow modules such as CSM or FSO.

- Understanding of build pipelines (Webpack, Vite, Babel).

- Exposure to UI testing frameworks.

- Knowledge of UX best practices and design systems.
