HP is looking for a talented and motivated engineer to join our Workstations R&D team. We are seeking an engineer with a strong passion for low‑level development and hands‑on hardware experience.
Responsibilities
You will work at the intersection of hardware and software, helping to design, develop, and deliver cutting‑edge workstation solutions used by some of the world’s most demanding customers.
As an engineer on the HP Z Workstations team, you will design, develop, debug, and maintain UEFI system firmware (BIOS) to deliver innovative solutions to customers.
You will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment with early access to unreleased hardware and software, gaining broad technical experience while solving complex customer problems.
Desired Experience and Knowledge
The ideal candidate has excellent troubleshooting skills, a drive to identify root cause, and the ability to work effectively across teams.
You should be innovative, self‑motivated, quality‑focused, and possess strong communication and technical skills.
Professional experience in firmware development
Strong C programming skills.
Experience with UEFI/BIOS, microcontrollers, embedded systems or other low-level code.
Experience with debuggers, protocol analyzers, and software development tools.
Knowledge of hardware-software integration and low-level system design.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar

The pay range for this role is $105,050 to $152,000 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
