Program Summary

KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.

Job Summary

Join our team as a Utilities Craftsman, where your experience and dedication meet purpose.  Duties will include, install, maintain, troubleshoot, water and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes. Maintain water and wastewater treatment facilities to meet operational requirements.  You will ensure the safety of each team member and in addition, you are responsible for safeguarding assigned tools, equipment, and other resources efficiently.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair of equipment associated with utility, water and plumbing systems.
  • Perform maintenance on the water distribution system on a daily, weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, semi-annual, annual, or as needed basis.
  • Inspect, monitor, troubleshoot, performance test fire hydrants and document work and maintenance performed on the potable and non-potable distribution system.
  • Install, maintain, repair, modify, and troubleshoot equipment including pumps, valves, motors, meters, tanks, reservoirs, and feeders.
  • Repairs all types of water and sewer lines both inside and outside buildings.
  • Cuts and threads pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe threading machine.
  • Bends pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machine or by placing pipe over block and bending it by hand.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair and replace all types of plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, toilets, urinals, flush valves, bathtubs, faucets, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposals, and dishwashers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pertinent fire protection equipment. Repair or replace defective components when needed.
  • Perform tasks to ensure on-time and accurate work completion in accordance with Performance Work Statement requirements, blueprints/drawings and written instructions.
  • Read and interpret electrical and electronic schematic wiring diagrams, manufactures’ literature, and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, parts, tools, and equipment as applicable.
  • Participate and actively ensure the safety of all KBR employees.
  • Daily use of a computer.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have technical school completion or equivalent.
  • Must have at least 5 years of trade related work experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable plumbing codes and public water compliance
  • Basic knowledge of the mechanics of operation of equipment such as pumps, boilers, heaters and other plumbing components.
  • Must have ability to communicate in native language, and proficient in English to perform assigned duties.
  • Must possess a Spanish Class ‘B’ driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • English Reading Level II, Written Level II, Verbal Level II.
