Job Description:
The Coach plays a critical role in virtually supporting a cohort of Reading Tutors who provide small-group instruction to K–6 students. Amplify provides initial and ongoing professional development to Amplify-employed Tutors, and the Coach is responsible for observing instruction, providing actionable feedback, and offering ongoing development and support across key instructional areas, including student assessment, lesson planning, and lesson implementation.
The Coach may also facilitate group trainings and support sessions for Tutors. All coaching, training, and support provided by the Coach will be delivered virtually.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, results-driven education leader who uses data to inform decisions and ensures high-quality support for Reading Tutors. They will bring deep instructional expertise and strong relationship-building skills to coach and develop Tutors effectively.
This position is virtual and open to candidates nationwide; however, candidates must be able to work Central Time Zone hours. This role requires eight hours per day, Monday through Friday, and is temporary through early June, with the possibility of extension
Essential Responsibilities:
Support Reading Tutors in using Amplify assessments and preparing for virtual small-group tutoring interventions
Support Reading Tutors in the implementation of lessons in a virtual environment
Virtually observe Reading Tutors and provide structured feedback on best instructional practices
Plan and facilitate internal team meetings that support Tutor development in lesson preparation and implementation
Implement tools, systems, and training to onboard new Reading Tutors
Facilitate learning experiences and systems that strengthen collaboration among Reading Tutors and leverage individual strengths
Build transparency across internal and external teams by providing visibility into Tutor performance and program insights
Partner with the Program Manager to communicate expectations to Reading Tutors and ensure adherence to schedules, lesson fidelity, and program requirements
Develop and facilitate professional development for district and school leaders using Amplify Tutoring materials
Collaborate with the Tutor Talent team to facilitate Reading Tutor trainings
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of PK–12 school-based experience
3+ years of experience coaching teachers in both individual and group settings at the school and/or district level
Experience delivering and leading intervention programs in a school setting
Experience delivering professional development to district and school leaders
Knowledge of the Science of Reading and early literacy instruction
Knowledge of instructional strategies and practices, including differentiation and student engagement
Strong understanding of standard data analysis methodologies to drive instruction and improve student outcomes
Proficiency with technology, including Google Meet, Google Docs, and other Google platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience tutoring students
Knowledge of and experience using Amplify mCLASS product
Compensation:
The hourly rate range for this role is $35-$40.
