Hargrove is looking for a Senior Turnaround Manager with 15 years experience to support a renewable energy client in Bakersfield, CA. Experience in the oil and gas fields is highly desired.
Job Scope: Generally responsible for planning and scheduling heavy industrial engineering projects, monitoring project costs and/or estimating projects. Work will be performed under minimal supervision.
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Model safe behavior; enforce safety rules; promote safety culture
Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance to ensure that the scheduling of equipment lock-out and safe work permitting is properly communicated.
Ensure effective utilization of the Turnaround (TAR) Work Process Ensure TAR execution is properly planned and staffed, interfacing with HES, Engineering, Controls & Operations to assure adequate participation.
Manage TAR execution to meet the scope freeze deliverables of work content, budget and outage duration. Manages all phases of turnarounds, expense projects and shut-downs from planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout, Strong understanding of turnaround planning methodology, readiness criteria, and execution management.
Assure issues are resolved in a timely manner to minimize impacts. Communicate TAR status concerns and issues to the Maintenance Center Manager. Drive personal engagement to ensure alignment with TAR objectives and all team members.
Ensure strict adherence to the TAR scope change process once the project lockdown date passes. Ensure strict adherence to the Field Change Order process throughout the TAR execution.
Coordinate accurate work scope and resource requirements for Field Sourcing Services to provide cost-effective contracting for services and material.
Develop, document, and implement a comprehensive, end-to-end turnaround work process covering identification, scoping, planning, readiness, execution, closeout, and post-event learning.
Create standardized tools, templates, workflows, stage-gate criteria, and supporting guidance documentation.
Establish and formalize turnaround governance structures, including Steering and Strategy Team charters, roles and responsibilities, decision rights, and operating rhythms.
Define and implement readiness criteria and assurance processes to ensure high-quality event preparation.
Strong communication, facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Lead and facilitate turnaround process improvement initiatives, incorporating lessons learned and best practices.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred.
Certification: AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.
Experience: This position requires 10 or more years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.

Ability to develop a construction cost estimate, a detailed engineering schedule and a man-hour budget for a small project or an area for a larger project.
Ability to determine construction material quantities.
Experienced in estimating and scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of project controls work. Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.
Proficient in the use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software and Timberline Estimating software.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
Physical Requirements:
Below is the range that we in good faith believe is the potential compensation for this role at the time of this posting and is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Hargrove’s total compensation package for Teammates. Actual compensation will be based on education, experience, skill set and location.
Minimum Salary: $150,000
Maximum Salary: $180,000
