The Opportunity
The Compression Fleet Management team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business, and we are expanding our presence in Canada to support our growing natural gas infrastructure
We are seeking an energetic, self-managed Senior Technologist or Engineer to support the wholistic technical strategy development for Turbomachinery equipment, who has knowledge and experience in various OEM Engines, Power Turbines and Compressors models as it pertains to natural gas pipelines to ensure the safety, Integrity and reliability of TC Energy’s Compression equipment in Canada.
This includes, but is not limited to, the technical oversight and strategy development for the Canadian Turbomachinery Repair and Overhaul program.
What you’ll do
Facilitate annual program reviews for unit health assessments and VPD analysis for identified upgrades and purchases
Facilitate Fleet wide strategy development to support sparing analysis, purchases, upgrades and re-aeros
Assists in identification and analysis of program trends, defining process improvements and technological opportunities;
Support standardization of equipment packages in collaboration with Engineering and OEMs
Fleet-wide program execution and oversight (Lube oil analysis)
Communication of technical execution strategies to both internal and external Stakeholders
Maintain internal stakeholder relations with Commercial and Operations
Support break-fix Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) & risk assessments
Minimum Qualifications
University degree preferred in Mechanical Engineering
Or Certified/Registered Engineering Technologist (CET, RET) certification
10+ years of relevant engineering or technical experience with 5+ years of experience with Prime mover equipment and maintenance (to include gas generators, power turbines, centrifugal compressors, reciprocating engines and compressors in addition to associated auxiliary systems)
Degreed Engineers, must be registered, or eligible to be registered, as a professional engineer (P. Eng) with APEGA
Demonstrated ability to initiate change and help others adapt to a continuously changing work environment
Proven ability to drive short-term and long-term technical solutions to complex and ambiguous problems
Experienced with engineering principles, codes, and standards to identify issues and recommend improvements
Ability to recognize and adapt to changing business priorities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in developing alternative analysis to support budget and execution decisions
Troubleshooting skills, including familiarity with all aspects of facility operation
Failure investigation and root cause determination and interpretation of damage mechanisms
Familiarity with norms and standards related to equipment reliability, safety, and risk management
Time management skills and ability to work independently, including at field locations
Previous maintenance process and system development experience
This position requires candidates to:
Successfully complete pre-employment conditions for education, and work references.
Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review
Stay away from home base overnight (approximately 3 to 5 days per month)
