Role Overview 

The Tumor Strategy and Operations Lead is responsible for driving strategic vision and operational excellence for assigned tumor areas (e.g., Lung, Melanoma, GU, Hematology, Breast, GI) within the US Oncology portfolio. This role ensures alignment of end-to-end tumor strategy across marketing, sales, and cross-functional teams, and leads integration efforts to maximize impact and efficiency. The Lead manages two Director-level team members and serves as a key partner to senior leadership. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and manage short- and mid-range tumor strategies and operational plans in alignment with overall franchise and portfolio objectives. 

  • Identify and capitalize on business opportunities within assigned tumor areas, ensuring strategic and operational planning supports growth and innovation. 

  • Streamline operational processes to enhance team efficiency, effectiveness, and best practice sharing across the Oncology Commercial Strategy team. 

  • Align HCP tactics and brand initiatives with tumor strategy to drive performance and deliver on commercial priorities. 

  • Oversee POA (Plan of Action) strategy, agenda, and coordination with sales operations, training, and brand teams for assigned tumors. 

  • Deliver tumor performance reviews and insights to senior management, supporting earnings calls and topline forecasts. 

  • Manage operating expenses, resource allocation, and analytics reporting (weekly, monthly, quarterly) for assigned tumor areas, ensuring alignment with Business Insights & Analytics (BI&A). 

  • Facilitate coordination across commercial, medical, and launch teams for tumor-specific initiatives and congresses. 

  • Lead customer model strategy, including analysis of tumor synergies, account management optimization, and leveraging RWD and HEOR data across field teams. 

  • Collaborate with leadership to define and implement cultural initiatives that promote diversity, inclusion, and a collaborative work environment. 

  • Partner with medical, finance, market research, global marketing, and other S&O leads to ensure alignment with key portfolio initiatives and priorities. 

  • Provide strategic insight and direction as a member of the Oncology Commercial Strategy Leadership Team. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, PharmD, PhD, MD) strongly preferred. 

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry, with significant experience in oncology commercial strategy, marketing, or operations. 

  • Proven track record of developing and executing tumor-specific strategies (e.g., Lung, Melanoma, GU, Hematology, Breast, GI). 

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing direct reports. 

  • Strong financial acumen and experience with resource allocation, forecasting, and operating expense management. 

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage data and analytics (BI&A, RWD, HEOR) for strategic decision-making. 

  • Experience with congress planning, launch operations, and customer model strategy.

Compensation Overview:

Princeton - NJ - US: $211,723 - $256,560

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
