Truck Driver / Warehouse Assistant – Ingham Family Store
Classification: General Retail Award – Level 2 Location: Ingham Family Store Status: Permanent Part‑Time (22.5 hours per week)
Are you reliable, hands‑on, and customer‑focused? Join our team at the Ingham Family Store, where your work directly supports our mission and the local community. We’re seeking a motivated Truck Driver / Warehouse Assistant to help manage the movement of goods and support daily retail operations.
The Role:
This position is responsible for the safe and efficient pickup, delivery, and handling of donated furniture and goods. You’ll also assist on the retail floor to support the smooth running of the store and ensure a positive experience for customers, donors, and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out scheduled pickups and deliveries of furniture and goods as directed by the Store Manager, following all WHS and manual‑handling procedures.
Provide friendly, professional service as a primary point of contact for donors and customers.
Assess the quality and value of donated items and follow TSA pickup protocols.
Manage waste removal and transport bins to the local refuse centre.
Operate the company vehicle safely, ensuring regular maintenance, cleanliness, and compliance with safety standards.
Support and guide staff and volunteers assisting on the truck.
Assist with retail operations including sorting, pricing, moving stock, and general floor support.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace.
Assist with sales, and perform store opening and closing procedures when required.
Follow secure cash‑handling and end‑of‑day processes when needed.
Contribute to a positive, efficient volunteer environment that supports both donors and volunteers.
