Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain fleet systems
  • Perform and lead Preventative Maintenance inspections (PMs), safety inspections, and annual certifications
  • Remove, repair, and reinstall major mechanical components with minimal supervision
  • Complete work orders accurately, including parts, labor, and documentation
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions, defects, or repairs needed
  • Conduct road calls and provide on-site emergency service as required
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and provincial regulations
  • Safely move vehicles within the yard and shop
  • Support and mentor apprentice mechanics
  • Participate in ASE certification (training and bonuses provided)

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Truck and Transport Mechanic (Red Seal) or equivalent recognized provincial trade certification
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence (Class 1 or 3 with Air Brake endorsement is an asset)
  • Personal heavy‑duty tool set suitable for fleet maintenance work
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and electrical skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a shop environment
  • Competent in using electronic service manuals, diagnostic software, and digital work‑order systems
  • Willingness to work assigned shifts and participate in occasional on‑call rotation
