DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW: 

Tyson’s Treasury department is responsible for providing the treasury services and funding required to achieve the company’s strategic objectives via a capital structure that appropriately optimizes efficiency and flexibility. The team’s objective is to maintain appropriate minimum liquidity, ensure and participate in uninterrupted access to capital markets, and minimize total funding costs for the organization.

SUMMARY OF ROLE: 

This position supports the Lease Financing function through lease analysis, administration, and portfolio tracking. Responsibilities include supporting capital markets and leasing analysis (data gathering, basic calculations, tracking), maintaining spreadsheets and internal trackers, preparing materials for internal meetings, and assisting with ad-hoc Treasury projects.

The role also provides support for lease-related matters such as buyouts, payment discrepancies, property tax lease payments, lease inbox management, and end-of-term notifications. Additionally, the intern will assist with investor database updates, capital markets presentation materials, Bloomberg weekly reporting (including Risk Finance), and International Treasury reporting.

On a periodic basis, the intern may support Corporate Finance activities including competitive analysis, market research, and financial modeling.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field preferred. Incoming junior, senior, or higher education with at least one semester of school remaining.
  • Experience: Previous work experience in any field is preferred. Work experience within the internship discipline is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Excel, familiarity with Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Special Skills: Ability to multitask, motivated self-starter, and collaborative.
  • Work Hours: Must be able to work 40 hours through the summer and up to 20 hours throughout the school year as classes allow.
