Job Description:
We are seeking a Head of North America Trade Specialized Product Sales (SPS) to lead a team of sales specialists responsible for originating and structuring high-quality transactions with clients across the Global Corporate & Investment Bank and Global Commercial Bank. This role requires a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, in-depth trade finance product knowledge, a strong credit acumen, understanding of commercial and political risk, and focus on global macro-economic trends. The successful candidate will be a proactive, client-focused originator on a global scale with a strong track record of delivering revenue growth and innovative trade finance solutions. The Head of Trade SPS role requires a highly motivated, strategic thinker with the ability to build relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to both clients and internal business partners.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of trade finance professionals while fostering a high-performance, team-first culture
• Leverage Salesforce to measure pipeline and individual/team performance against revenue and strategic goals
• Partners with internal stakeholders across functions to ensure alignment on the origination and execution of deals
• Represent the organization in client meetings and industry forums
• Effectively communicate strategies, opportunities and risk to senior management and stakeholders
• Proactively originate new trade finance opportunities across core products
• Build and maintain senior-level client relationships to drive new business and expand revenue
• Identify market opportunities and develop targeted strategies to grow market share
• Structure complex trade finance transactions tailored to client needs while balancing risk and profitability/returns
• Ongoing collaboration with banking coverage and wholesale credit to ensure deal flow aligns with internal risk appetite
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements
• Focus on revenue realization by ensuring the team oversees the end-to-end deal lifecycle from origination through execution
• Demonstrate an in-depth product knowledge of trade finance solutions and market dynamics
• Stay current on industry trends, competitor activity and emerging risks/opportunities (both external and internal)
• Contribute to product innovation and trade transformation initiatives
• Identify and resolve complex client and transaction challenges with practical, commercial solutions
• Drive efficiency and continues improvement in the sales process and deal execution – including the use of AI tools, as applicable
Responsibilities:
Oversees the management of client engagements and reviews, account management, complex deals, and/or emerging solution opportunities with clients to grow market share through deal support
Serves as a bank representative presenting at key industry events, leading consultative discussions at multiple levels of the organization, and providing product line expertise
Assists banking line partners in understanding treasury management, product risk, and ensuring applicable policies are applied through the sales cycle
Oversees the strategy and tactical execution of segment initiatives across all major Lines of Business, driving collaboration between product, sales, and client relationship teams
Oversees the identification and development of responses to emerging product trends, competitive strategies, and market gaps
Manages the development and implementation of programs and policies in partnership with market leadership to drive Global Treasury solutions and local market strategies
Acts as the product or industry expert in client call planning and strategic client reviews, identifying opportunities and influencing solutions
