Traveling Endo Dental Assistant

As an Endodontist Dental Assistant at Tend, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting specialized endodontic care within a modern, patient-centered studio environment. You’ll provide expert chairside assistance for root canals and other endodontic procedures, ensure precise clinical setup and sterilization, and create a calming, informed experience for patients who may arrive in pain or with dental anxiety. This role is ideal for dental assistants who are eager to deepen their clinical skill set, master endodontic workflows and technology, and collaborate closely with a high-performing team. What You’ll Do

  • Provide specialized chairside support for endodontic procedures, including root canal therapy, retreatments, and emergency endodontic care
  • Prepare operatories with endodontic instruments, materials, and technology (apex locators, rotary systems, microscopes, CBCT scans, etc.)
  • Take high-quality periapical and diagnostic radiographs to support clinical decision-making
  • Maintain strict sterilization and infection-control protocols aligned with OSHA and CDC standards
  • Support patient comfort by clearly explaining steps, reducing anxiety, and anticipating needs during potentially lengthy procedures
  • Ensure seamless clinical flow by coordinating efficiently with the endodontist, front desk, sterilization techs, and studio team
  • Assist in managing follow-up care instructions, treatment notes, and documentation accuracy
  • Participate in ongoing development to advance your skills in specialty workflows, digital tools, and clinical excellence

What You Have

  • All state-required certifications, registrations, or licenses for dental assistants
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Experience providing chairside assistance for endodontic procedures 
  • Proficiency in taking diagnostic-quality periapical radiographs; CBCT familiarity a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Adaptability to new technologies and workflows in a modern studio environment
  • Excitement about contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule (32–40 hours per week including some Saturdays) or part-time schedule (2–3 days per week including some Saturdays)

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to perform the essential job duties listed, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods while assisting with dental procedures
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to handle dental instruments precisely
  • Adequate vision (with or without correction) to read charts, interpret radiographs, and operate clinical equipment
  • Ability to bend, reach, and maintain ergonomic positioning for patient care
  • Occasional lifting or movement of equipment and supplies up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, team members, and other healthcare professionals in person and via technology
