Hours are Saturday and Sunday 7:00-5:30
Pay Range
$18.50 - $27.75Responsible for the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients.
Lifts and transports patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers or beds, properly positioning and securing patient using proper body mechanics. Ensures the comfort of the patient by being attentive, offering blankets, checking modesty. Follows all posted precaution signs.
Transports patients to their destinations. May also transport other items related to their destinations.
Contacts clinical staff immediately regarding changes to a patient's condition, or if an issue arises with patient's equipment during transport.
Verifies and documents correct patient identification by comparing information from pager to patient wristband. Obtains the correct charts from clinical staff.
May respond to emergency activities by assisting with moving patients if needed.
Notifies dispatcher when assignments are initiated, completed, delayed, cancelled, and when requested by the dispatcher.
Collects and returns wheelchairs and stretchers to the proper holding areas and makes up stretchers upon completion. Disinfects and inspects transport equipment before and after use. Maintains equipment and reports equipment in need of repair.

Licenses & Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.

Excellent communication skills. Demonstrated experience in customer relations.Satisfactory completion of body mechanics training for transporters within one month of start date.
