Job Overview
The Transportation Manager is responsible for leading and continuously improving the operational backbone of the PACE Transportation Division, with a strong focus on dispatch operations, quality, training, safety, and fleet maintenance. This role ensures participants are transported safely, reliably, and with dignity, supporting a positive, consistent experience from pickup to drop-off. This position provides direct oversight of Transportation Supervisors, dispatch and office staff, quality and training functions, and oversees fleet maintenance and repair activities to ensure vehicles are safe, compliant, and available to meet daily demand. The Transportation Manager is accountable for developing and sustaining standardized workflows that improve service reliability, reduce operational variation, and elevate the participant’s experience. Working closely with the Director of Transportation, the Transportation Manager partners on operational planning and manages day-to-day operations within approved budgets, identifying efficiencies while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer service. The role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation and safety regulations, supports audits and corrective actions, and collaborates with internal teams and external vendors, grant programs, Contracting, and Government Relations as needed. By strengthening dispatch discipline, quality oversight, training effectiveness, fleet reliability, and safety practices, the Transportation Manager ensures transportation operations function as a dependable, participant-centered service that supports care delivery, trust, and long-term sustainability.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or a combination of college coursework, combined with a minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation and/or paratransit management/operations.
A minimum of three years’ experience is required, both fixed route/fixed schedule and specialty/appointment routes, and working population with a scheduling/routing software (i.e., Routematch, Trapeze, or similar) to include scheduling, run cutting, and rostering.
A minimum of one year of prior experience is required working with the geriatric/frail elderly.
Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on location, preferred.
Compensation
$100,812.28 - $126,015.35 annuallyCompensation Disclaimer
