Position Summary

The Transportation Operations Analyst I is an analytical, cross-functional role responsible for supporting daily transportation operations and driving data-informed decision-making across the supply chain. This position partners with Supply & Demand, logistics providers, and internal teams to manage shipment execution, analyze performance metrics, and implement process improvements that enhance service levels, cost efficiency, and operational reliability.

The role combines hands-on operational support with data analysis, focusing on shipment tracking, carrier performance, KPI reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The analyst will leverage transportation systems, dashboards, and reporting tools to monitor trends, mitigate risks, and ensure on-time delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities

· Support day-to-day transportation operations including shipment coordination, tracking, and issue resolution across inbound and outbound logistics

· Facilitate communication between booking agents, freight forwarders, rail carriers, rail yards, and internal stakeholders regarding container movement and shipment status

· Monitor and proactively mitigate risks to on-time delivery, escalating issues as needed

· Maintain and update container and shipment data within dashboards and ERP systems based on real-time tracking information

· Analyze shipment activity and trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements

· Develop and maintain KPI reporting (daily/monthly), including on-time delivery, lead times, carrier performance, and cost metrics

· Utilize data analytics to evaluate service levels, routing efficiency, rate competitiveness, and supply chain bottlenecks

· Manage freight claims including lost, misrouted, or damaged shipments, ensuring timely resolution with carriers

· Coordinate with vendors and carriers to schedule pickups and ensure efficient freight movement

· Build and maintain routing guides and ensure compliance with transportation policies and cost/service requirements

· Provide pricing quotes and manage bookings for expedited or ad hoc shipments while ensuring cost-effective decision-making

· Support manufacturing and operations with scheduling, expediting, and shipment compliance needs

· Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Distribution, and Customer Experience teams

· Design and deliver network analysis and support continuous improvement projects

· Lead or support dashboard enhancements and process optimization initiatives

Required Skills & Competencies

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract, manipulate, and interpret data

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI and PowerPoint preferred

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

· Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk mitigation

· Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

· Experience working with transportation management systems (TMS) and ERP systems

· Knowledge of supply chain, logistics, and transportation operations

· Basic understanding of finance and cost analysis

Education & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or related field preferred

· 3–5 years of relevant experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations

· Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
