Transport Reefer Technician

Calgary, AB Full time

As a Transport Reefer Technician, you will be a key player in improving the Bison’s Reefer Trailer Fleet performance in terms of efficient, effective, and timely maintenance/repairs. You will be expected to be a team-player in the Maintenance Department, mentoring and training fellow Technicians, and collaborating to improve maintenance standard operating procedures. They must be able to diagnose recurring problems and effectively communicate these to other members of the Maintenance Team. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on all reefer trailers in the Bison Transport fleet.
  • Responsible for performing maintenance on reefer trailers, this involves diagnosing problems that are found during these inspections and proscribing the correct remedial action.
  • Perform repairs that are diagnosed during the barn inspection and preventative maintenance in a timely, effective and efficient manner.
  • Attending team meetings and performing other miscellaneous repairs on Bison Transport equipment.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in reefer diagnosis & repairs is preferred. 
  • A Certified Journeyman Technician or Licensed Heavy-Duty Mechanic is preferred.
  • Ozone Depletion Certificate would be considered an asset.
  • Carrier Certificate would be considered an asset.
  • Experience using computers to enter work orders.
  • Good communication skills with a professional attitude.
  • Hold a valid Driver's License.
  • May stand and walk on level and uneven surfaces, twist, bend, push, pull, crouch, climb stairs, bend and crawl, grasp, drag, lift and carry items weighing 50 lbs or less.

Shift schedule:

  • This position is a permanent full-time 4x10s schedule Monday to Thursday from 16:00-02:30.
