Job Description:
The Transport Lead will be responsible for delivering world class services to Capita SA’s operations and support teams through the management of departmental processes, standards and key service providers.
Professional Know-how
Academic:
- Matric (Completed)
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Email)
- Related qualification in Supply Chain Management or equivalent qualification will be advantageous.
Experience
- 3 years’ experience in a Transport / Supply Chain / Logistics environment
- Health and Safety knowledge
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Email)
- Understanding of MoveInsync Transport Management System
- Strong communication, decision-making, and ability to handle high-pressure situations.

- Operations/functional line
External:
- External Vendors/Transport department
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring transport operation is running smoothly.
- Responsible for vendor management
- Relieve Senior Transport Manager and take full accountability for any transport-related matters.
- Supervising a team of Transport Coordinators
- Coach, manage, and motivate your team to reach their full potential
- Manage all disciplinary and grievance issues in line with HR policy
- Pricing for new business and ensuring that the solution offered to new clients is deliverable to
- Plan and coordinate employee transport operation.
- Always ensure the health and safety of staff while in use of company transport.
- Ensure department reports are maintained daily, weekly, monthly.
- Liaise and negotiate with transport providers/Team leaders/staff.
- Manage and monitor SLA with transport providers.
- Resolve any arising problems or complaints.
- Analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, ISO and CAPITA requirements.
- Manage spending and ensure its within budget.
- Review routing on a quarterly basis and ensure best approach to achieve efficient customer service.
- Incident reporting and support of the management of SHE legislative requirements
- Ad- Hoc duties as requested by Management
- Be on standby after hours for any transport related incident
- Compile Monthly reports as requested by Management.
