Scope of Position- The Transplant Office provides care to liver, kidney, heart, lung and pancreas transplant patients from the time of their transplant through their lifetime. This position is responsible for the clinical follow-up of a subset of these patients.

Position Summary The infusion coordinator is responsible for coordinating the inter-disciplinary team of nursing and non-nursing resources to best serve the Transplant patients. The process of assessment, education and continuity of care is focused on the Transplant patients seen at Comprehensive Transplant Clinic at OSUWMC. Infusion coordinator is also responsible for the administration of prescribed therapy, monitoring potential adverse effects, and following OSUMC Policy and Procedure. Nursing care is delivered in a manner that is cost effective without compromising patient care. The infusion clinic nurse designs, implements and evaluates systems to improve the quality of nursing care for the Transplant patient.


 

Minimum Qualifications 

For Hire:  Graduate from an approved school of nursing. Current RN Ohio License. Prior transplant and/or infusion experience preferred. Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator and/or Certified Registered Nurse of Infusion preferred. Flexible, sensitive and adaptable to transplant activities.

On going: Maintain current Ohio Licensure; maintain CPR certification, ACLS, Chemotherapy/Biotherapy competency.
