The Transplant Financial Administrator supports transplant program revenue capture performance through abstraction, review, and reporting of costs surrounding pre and post-transplant patients. Will provide abstraction and analysis of clinical medical record documentation to support appropriate allocation of costs to the Medicare Cost Report (MCR) and work with MCR team. Will work collaboratively with Finance and manage workques created to assist with identification of MCR charges. Is involved in reviews by coding team that support appropriate DRG coding for transplantation patients. Will manage time study collection process ensuring all applicable time studies are collected.
- CHARGE ANALYSIS: Provides continuous monitoring of transplant and potential transplant patient charges, both in-patient and out-patient. Identifies appropriateness of charge, billing route, and collection/reimbursement of charges. Identifies and confirms or denies charges that are may be indicated as workup testing. Manages charge bundling process for potential transplant patients.
- CLINICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Analyzes DRG of transplant patients to identify appropriateness. Collaborate with coding and physicians to ensure appropriate EMR documentation to support DRG. Analyzes testing to determine if it is eligible for the Medicare Cost Report.
- DOCUMENTATION: Collaborates with transplant and finance teams to ensure maximization and timeliness of annual Medicare Cost Reporting processes and data. Captures time studies for applicable staff.
- The Transplant Financial Administrator (TFA) supports transplant program revenue through data analysis, review and reporting of costs surrounding pre and post-transplant patients.
- Provides data analysis of clinical medical record documentation of all new solid organ transplant and potential transplant patients to support appropriate allocation of costs to the Medicare Cost Report (MCR).
- Collects, reviews and tracks organ acquisition invoices from Organ Procurement Organizations (OPO), transportation vendors, laboratory services, and other miscellaneous service providers prior to submitting to Trinity for payment processing.
- Reviews all organ transplant inpatient and outpatient accounts at the request of the Patient Financial Services and Revenue Integrity team.

- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or related field of study.

Pay Range: $61,526.40 - $95,368.00 per year
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
