We are seeking a Translation Services (English to French) Manager to join the Canada Segment Marketing team. The ideal candidate is a language specialist with an exceptional eye for detail, experience building and maintaining language databases as well as experience establishing and leading translation processes. Demonstrating superior translation and review skills, the Translation Manager leads the ongoing development and implementation of strategies to guarantee consistent, high-quality linguistic output, including partnering with the AI team to continuously improve AI translation tools and outputs, tailored to meet organizational goals and stakeholder expectations.

Position Responsibilities:
AI-powered workflow management: Oversee the entire translation and localization lifecycle, integrating AI tools to optimize efficiency and quality.
AI quality assurance: Establish and implement quality assessment processes for AI-generated translations, providing feedback to refine models and improve consistency.
Vendor management: Manage translation vendors, coordinating projects to ensure quality and that deliverables are met on time and within budget.
Content strategy: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, product) to align localization strategies with business goals. Offer expert linguistic guidance, advocate for best practices and uphold consistent terminology usage across the organization.
Tool development and maintenance: Develop and refine glossaries, style guides, and terminology databases to ensure consistency and accuracy across all projects.
Continuous improvement: Stay current with industry trends, new AI technologies, and innovative approaches to enhance translation processes.
You will establish and uphold rigorous linguistic standards while staying attuned to emerging trends and industry best practices. You’ll take responsibility for developing, enriching, and maintaining comprehensive terminology management resources, ensuring our language tools remain authoritative and robust. A respected authority, you will guide translation revisions, offering expert advice on linguistic nuance, and translation excellence. You will arbitrate complex terminology and linguistic matters, standing as the team’s primary reference for difficult or sensitive language issues.
You will lead the development and implementation of strategies to guarantee consistent, high-quality linguistic output, tailored to meet organizational goals and stakeholder expectations. While this role is currently focused on French/English translation, you will be responsible for developing a translation centre of excellence that could extend to additional languages. Your collaborative approach will see you working closely with internal partners and external stakeholders to align language practices with our broader communication objectives.
Required Qualifications:
University degree in translation, terminology, linguistics, or related field.
Linguistic expertise: Fluency in English and French, with native or near-native proficiency in both, and a strong command of language-related quality assurance processes. Strong cultural awareness in both Canadian English and Canadian French.
Experience: Proven experience in translation, review, localization, terminology management, project management, and use of translation software, including AI translation tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Comprehensive understanding of language, style, and translation standards.
Excellent review, editing, and proofreading skills to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
Familiarity with standard translation tools, Microsoft Office, project management principles, and communications best practices.
Project management: Excellent organizational, time management, and budget management skills.
Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with internal stakeholders, linguists, and vendors.
Strategic thinking: Ability to understand business goals and translate them into effective localization strategies.

Salary range is expected to be between
