The Opportunity
CACI is seek a Transition Engineer to support USEUCOM in Stuttgart, Germany.
Candidate should have previous experience working at the Combatant Command level in a dynamic, fast paced, Joint environment.
Responsibilities
Transition Engineer will coordinate evaluate and develop transition plans from projects and engineering efforts into EUCOM operations and sustainment to include:
- Develop documentation; diagrams; deployment plans; testing; SOV’Ts; ASI; CRQ planning
- Provide details briefings to government leadership.
- Develop and manage comprehensive IT transition strategies, schedules, and risk mitigation plans.
- Oversee migration of legacy systems to modernized platforms, ensuring minimal disruption to command operations.
- Collaborate with Joint Staff, Service Components, and external agencies to align IT transition efforts with DoD enterprise initiatives.
- Communicate transition objectives, timelines, and impacts to senior leadership and mission owners.
- Ensure all transition activities comply with DoD cybersecurity policies, NIST standards, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements. . Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to validate security controls during system migrations.
- Implement contingency plans to safeguard mission-critical systems during transitions.
- Monitor system performance and resolve issues to maintain operational readiness.
- Lead change management processes, ensuring proper documentation, approvals, and configuration control.
- Maintain accurate records of system baselines and transition milestones.
- Develop training materials and conduct workshops for end-users and administrators.
- Ensure smooth handoff of transitioned systems to sustainment teams.
Qualifications
Required
- Clearance: Active TS Clerance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Experience: Typically requires 5–10 years of experience, with specific expertise in DoD sensor technologies, systems engineering, or relevant technical domains.
- Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline is generally required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in systems engineering, modeling, simulation, and understanding of military acquisition processes.

- System Integration: Experience developing and executing military processes and plans to move systems from the development stage to full operations and sustainment.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Experience working closely with system testers, operators, and maintainers to ensure that new equipment meets real-world mission needs.
- Risk Management: Able identify and assess technical, schedule, and cost risks during the transition phase and developing mitigation plans.
- Operational Readiness: Experience evaluating solutions for technical issues and ensuring that the warfighter is trained and equipped to use the new system effectively.
- Technical Reviews: Familiar with participating in Discrepancy Review boards and working groups to address any system flaws before final deployment

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$82,700 - 173,900 USD
