Transceiver Signal Integrity Engineer
Company:** Jabil, Inc.
Job Summary
Jabil is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transceiver Signal Integrity Engineer to design, analyze, and validate high-speed electrical interconnects for advanced transceiver modules. This role will be critical in ensuring the performance and reliability of our next-generation optical and electrical communication products.
Job Responsibilities
* Lead the signal integrity design and analysis for high-speed transceiver modules, including optical and electrical interfaces (e.g., PCIe, Ethernet, SerDes).
* Perform pre-layout and post-layout signal integrity simulations (e.g., S-parameter extraction, eye diagram analysis, crosstalk analysis, impedance control) using industry-standard tools (e.g., Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, Cadence Allegro SI).
* Develop and implement signal integrity design guidelines and best practices for PCB layout, package design, and connector selection.
* Collaborate closely with hardware design, PCB layout, mechanical, and firmware engineering teams to ensure signal integrity requirements are met throughout the product development lifecycle.
* Define and execute signal integrity validation plans, including test fixture design, measurement techniques (e.g., VNA, TDR, oscilloscope), and data analysis.
* Identify and debug complex signal integrity issues, providing effective solutions and recommendations for design optimization.
* Evaluate and select appropriate components (e.g., connectors, passive components, IC packages) based on signal integrity performance and cost considerations.
* Contribute to the development of intellectual property through patent applications and technical publications.
* Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and new methodologies in high-speed signal integrity.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in high-speed signal integrity design and analysis, preferably within the optical transceiver or data communication industry.
* Strong theoretical and practical understanding of electromagnetic theory, transmission line theory, S-parameters, and high-frequency effects.
* Proficiency with signal integrity simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, Cadence Allegro SI, or similar.
* Hands-on experience with high-speed test equipment, including VNAs, TDRs, and oscilloscopes.
* Demonstrated ability to debug and resolve complex signal integrity issues.
* Experience with PCB layout tools (e.g., Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer) and understanding of their impact on signal integrity.
* Familiarity with industry standards for high-speed interfaces (e.g., IEEE 802.3, OIF, PCIe, USB).
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
