Your role in evolving how we work:

The Plant Training Specialist plays a key role in developing employee skills and driving team performance. The role directly supports organizational objectives by ensuring the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of all plant training processes, including new employee onboarding, internal job postings, and ongoing competency maintenance.

As a central contributor to talent development in a manufacturing environment, the Training Specialist assesses needs, designs and structures training programs aligned with shop-floor realities, implements evaluation tools, and proposes practical improvements to ensure knowledge retention and continuous performance improvement.

  • Lead and continuously improve all plant training processes (onboarding, internal job postings, competency maintenance, and new processes)

  • Assess training needs, identify gaps, and recommend actionable improvements aligned with operational objectives

  • Design, structure, and maintain training content and related tools

  • Coordinate and schedule training activities in collaboration with teams, while respecting work schedules and collective agreement requirements

  • Facilitate meetings, cross-functional workshops, and training sessions

  • Deploy strategic initiatives and structured projects related to evolving practices and job roles

  • Establish and oversee a trainer network, monitor competency development, and manage the annual training budget

The profile that will contribute to change:

  • College diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in employee training within a manufacturing environment, preferably in food processing, including the preparation of work instructions and the deployment of training programs.

  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
