As the Training Quality & Operations Coordinator, you will provide strategic support for the development and delivery of departmental training programs for temporary election workers. In this role, you will ensure training materials, curriculum, and instruction align with federal, state, and local election law requirements while advancing best operational practice standards and strengthening adherence to established internal policies and procedures.
In addition to training support, you will serve as a key operational partner to the Pre-Tabulation division by delivering training to temporary election workers and managing the flow of the room during peak election periods. Your work will help ensure secure, efficient, and accurate ballot processing operations during Countywide Elections.
This role requires a confident communicator and strategic thinker who can balance big-picture quality assurance for all department training with hands-on operational support. We Require
Bachelor’s degree in public administration, human resources, education, or a related field
A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
Other Requirements
Must be a registered voter in Maricopa County by the time of hire
Must complete Secretary of State Training to receive Elections Officer Certification when offered next
Mandatory overtime during all election cycles
Must be willing to work second shifts or evening shifts
We Also Value
One or more years of training experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Advanced Microsoft Word skills
Experience designing/creating computer-based training applications and learning management systems
Experience supporting election activities
Job Contributions
Assists the Pre-Tabulation division with training and management of temporary workers during Countywide Elections
Supports the development and improvement of training for temporary workers across various divisions
Assist staff across various divisions with updates to written materials related to their training, such as job aids and presentations
Provide coaching for staff leads on how to deliver more effective training to temporary workers
Supports Pre-Tabulation by ensuring ballots are processed on schedule for tabulation, duplication, or reconciliation, with all necessary chain-of-custody documentation
Participates in assessing the effectiveness of training programs and materials after the election.
Provides support to the Compliance & Quality Control Officer on updating standards of work, tracking legislation, and other key department tasks.
Working Conditions
Exerting up to 20 lbs, occasionally, 10 lbs. of pushing, pulling, or lifting
Requires sitting, walking, or standing to a significant degree
Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
Frequent engagement with the public in person, by phone, or electronically
