So let's talk about the role...
A Training Programs Manager II can be expected to perform the following tasks in this role as a routine part of their job:
Training Program/Project Development
Drives training projects from concept to delivery, balancing scope, timeline, and impact to meet evolving business needs.
Supports the planning and coordination of training initiatives aligned to functional needs.
Translates broad business requirements into training objectives, agendas, and learning plans using established templates and guidance.
Consults with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design and develop content, validate accuracy, and ensure training materials reflect current processes.
Creates, maintains and updates training materials; (facilitator guides, participant guides, job aids, checklists, quick-reference tools.
Conducts complex needs assessments by analyzing data, collecting input from coaches, team members, and leaders; surveys, focus questions, and evaluations.
Analysis and Reporting
Tracks participation, completion, attendance, and basic effectiveness indicators; satisfaction scores, quiz results, follow-up check-ins, etc. and makes recommendations based on findings.
Creates training metrics/dashboards and routine reports and provides insights
Analyzes training data to identify emerging trends and leading indicators, forecasting potential risks to program success and proactively recommending data‑informed adjustments to improve participation, completion, and learning outcomes.
Evaluates training at all levels (L1-L4).
Ensures accurate recordkeeping and data integrity in learning system(s).
Program Delivery and Administration (20%)
Coordinates session logistics: schedules, rooms/virtual links, rosters, invitations, reminders, materials, facilitator support, and attendance tracking.
Provides learner support before/during/after training; questions, access issues, enrollment changes, troubleshooting.
Administers training communications, including program announcements, instructions, and follow-up messages.
Prepares for delivery execution; materials preparation, polling, breakout coordination, printing/shipping.
Facilitates training sessions utilizing advanced adult learning principles.
Ensures training sessions follow established standards for learner experience, timing, and documentation.
Learning Operations Management (20%)
Maintains the training calendar and ensures learning offerings are posted, accurate, and current.
Supports LMS administration tasks as assigned; enrollments, assignments, completions, basic troubleshooting, etc.
Coordinates training vendor logistics as applicable; session confirmations, attendance reconciliation, invoicing documentation, etc.
Manages training inventory and materials; print collateral, equipment, supplies, job aids, shipping, etc.
Contributes to continuous improvement by documenting process gaps and recommending practical solutions.

A qualified candidate for the Training Programs Manager II role should satisfy the expectations (Experience and Education) below:
Three Plus Years of Progressively Responsible Training Program Development/Administration and/or Learning and Development Experience
Advanced Communication and Presentation Skills; Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills; Articulate Speaking and Presentation Abilities
Advanced Organizational Skills with an Attention to Detail; Ability to Manage Multiple Tasks and Deadlines
