Major Duties:

  • The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) at Los Angeles Air Force Base, California is searching for a Training Monitor (NH-0301-02, GS 5-11 equivalent). Description: Join Space Sensing as we plan and execute rapid acquisition strategies for a $24 billion portfolio of space programs. In support of USSF and DoW warfighting priorities, we deliver resilient missile warning, environmental monitoring, and tactical surveillance capabilities to underpin the nation's integrated deterrence strategy. We are seeking a driven Training Professional to lead our programs for military and civilian personnel. In this role, you will develop and manage key initiatives like the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) and ensure all programs conform to policy and legal requirements. You will guide customers, analyze training needs to recommend budgets, and deliver briefings to convey requirements and program changes. A key function will be overseeing nominations for leadership and development programs like SPDP and ALCP. If this sounds exciting to you, come join us. Space starts here. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of military and civilian professional development principles and practices. This includes expertise in the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP), Continuous Learning (CL), and AT&L Workforce Waiver programs. The role requires strong analytical skills to gather and interpret data for making recommendations, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills for presenting formal briefings and collaborating effectively with personnel at all levels. Proficiency with standard office software is essential. Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of military and civilian training programs, principles, practices, and procedures related to office, enlisted and civilian professional development. 2. Knowledge of acquisition professional development program (APDP), continuous learning (CL) and Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (AT & L) Workforce Waiver programs; professional training requirements and policies, development curriculum and training resources. 3. Skill in using a variety of computer software programs (e.g., Power Point, Excel, Word, etc.) 4. Skill in developing course materials and presenting formal and informal courses and briefings. 5. Ability to gather, develop, and analyze a variety of data and to make recommendations based on analysis. 6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 7. Ability to work with all levels of personnel; internal and external. 8. Knowledge of basic budget preparation as it applies to preparing or operating expenditure training budgets.
