Training Manager Phakic IOL

Position Summary 


Conceptualization and delivery of internal and external training courses and creation of the associated training materials to ensure the standardization and quality of our application support for Phakic IOLs. Support the implementation of PIOLs in our workflows, follow up and assist with post-market research, ultimately achieving the implementation and promotion of the Phakic IOL in clinical practice in China and globally. Close cooperation with different functions in ZEISS headquarters and the PIOL joint venture in China.  Second-level support for the global team of application specialists.

Main Tasks

1、Design and delivery of clinical application training (in-person and online) for customers and employees to ensure the highest possible quality and standardization of global application support for PIOL.
-Needs assessment: Analyzing the specific training needs of customers and employees to develop customized training programs.
-In-person training: Organizing and delivering one-on-one training sessions that include hands-on exercises and interactive sessions to enable the direct application of PIOL solutions.
-Online training: Developing virtual training formats that allow for flexible participation and global reach, while utilizing interactive elements for knowledge transfer.
-Quality assurance: Implementing evaluation methods to measure the effectiveness of the training and ensure continuous improvement.

2、Creation and release of training content for global application specialists and for worldwide customer training offerings.
-Content Development: Collaboration with subject matter experts to create comprehensive and up-to-date training materials that cover both technical and clinical aspects of PIOL solutions.
-Release Process: Coordinating the review and approval of training content to ensure it meets quality standards and is suitable for global use.

3、Training of clinical application specialists on all relevant PIOL solutions to ensure all application specialists have the same and current level of knowledge.
-PIOL Solutions: Providing detailed knowledge of all relevant PIOL products and solutions to ensure application specialists worldwide have the same and current level of knowledge.
-Knowledge Equality: Regular updates to training materials to incorporate new developments and changes in PIOL solutions.
-Train and certify ZEISS application specialists worldwide for clinical training of end customers on PIOL solutions.
-Supporting ZEISS application specialists and customers to ensure and improve the safe and effective handling of PIOL solutions.

4、Supporting development projects and other HQ functions that require clinical application knowledge. This aims to ensure that newly developed products are potentially better adapted to customer needs and clinical workflows.
-Clinical application knowledge: Providing expertise from clinical applications to support development projects and ensure that new products are optimally aligned with customer needs and clinical workflows.
-Product adaptation: Collaborating with product development teams to integrate practical feedback and improve product usability and effectiveness.
-Supporting and participating in development projects to incorporate customer feedback and experience from the field of refractive surgery into new PIOL solutions.

5、Support for application specialists and customers worldwide through second-level support. 
-Support for application specialists: Providing advanced support to less experienced application specialists to improve their skills and solve complex problems.
-Direct customer support: Providing direct application support to customers in regions with insufficient application support to ensure adequate support is available there as well.

6、Management of global peer-to-peer training centers
-Center coordination: Developing, monitoring and supporting the global training centers to ensure they operate effectively and offer high-quality training.
-Network development: Fostering exchange and collaboration between training centers to share best practices and improve training quality.

7、Supporting and developing services for the PIOL application team. Services for our customers are continuously expanded and are intended to generate recurring revenue in the long term.
-Service expansion: Identifying and developing new services that can be offered to customers to increase the value of PIOL solutions and generate long-term recurring revenue.
-Customer satisfaction: Ensuring that the developed services meet customer needs and increase customer satisfaction.
-Monitoring and reporting on PIOL solutions at customer sites (vigilance, medical product complaint reporting).

8、Support and participation in international trade fair activities to demonstrate PIOL solutions and facilitate professional exchange with PIOL customers.
-Product demonstrations: Presenting and demonstrating PIOL solutions at international trade fairs to showcase their benefits and applications.
-Professional exchange: Facilitating discussions and exchanges with PIOL customers to gather their feedback and strengthen relationships.

9、Post-Market Research Support  
-Regularly track and summarize the latest clinical, material, and preclinic research advancements in PIOL domestically and internationally, identify post-market research needs for ZEISS PIOL products, and detail these requirements.  
-Collaborate with KOL clients to plan detailed post-market research initiatives and provide regular follow-up.  
-Assist in implementing research projects initiated by the headquarters and upstream product teams.  

Requirements 

Education
Master's degree or higher in Ophthalmology, Optometry     
                                                                                 
Experience 
1、Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical application support.
2、Experience and confident handling of external partners and clients
3、Experience in the didactic design and creation of training materials (internal/external)
4、Experience in supporting pre-and-post market research is essential.                                                                                                           
5、Extensive clinical experience with Phakic IOLs is essential.
