Job Description:
The Training Manager role is a nationally focused position responsible for leading a team of Trainers in the delivery of training solutions to Group Disability Claims. Ensuring a national training program with strong focus on adult learning principles and consistency is a key focus of the role. Also critical to the role is the ability to lead the team with new technology, best practices and technologies.
What will you do?
Coach, motivate and mentor team members to improve and grow.
Find innovative ways to maintain and advocate for effective training approaches in all of our Foundational Training Programs through formal and informal feedback loops.
Advance the process of calibration with Quality, Business Practice Improvement and Knowledge Management to drive timely and effective training improvements, interventions and value add training products/approaches.
Monitor speed to proficiency on core Disability Operational performance metrics and ensure accuracy of curriculum against operational changes.
Work with Regional Training Leads to source Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assist in training assessments or development.
Continually research methods and techniques in workplace training and remain up-to-date on developments within the industry and competitors.
Collaborate with people managers and executives to build capabilities within their respective lines of business by assessing needs and recommending solutions
Conduct regular meetings with senior management and other key stakeholders to provide progress updates on team achievements and deliverables.
Ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all Team Curricula and associated learning objectives, to ensure sufficiently ramped Operations Employees.
What do you need to succeed?
3-5 years of demonstrated experience in leadership
Bachelor degree completed. Bachelor in Business, Human Resources, Education/Curriculum Development or equivalent experience are preferred
Current, practical knowledge of Adult Education Methodologies and Corporate Learning Strategies
Bilingual (English and French) is an asset
Experience in Disability Case Management is an asset
Strong business acumen, including demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
Adaptability to collaborate and lead effectively under conditions of ambiguity in a fast-growth, sometimes uncertain and complex environment.
Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple training initiatives
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Captivate and the Microsoft Suite

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
