Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in the Federal service that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes assigning student projects, researching, fact-finding, analyzing and interpreting a variety of material from different sources to be used in the development of lesson plans and maintaining current and up to date knowledge of advanced medical subjects (standards of care) and National Registered Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (NREMTP) processes. Experience in Critical Care Nursing as a Registered Nurse-RN (clinical setting) in order to instruct at the advanced level and scope of the Critical Care Flight Paramedic Program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Education: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Master or Doctorate of Nursing Practice - If the candidate does not have 2+ years of critical care experience, but is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the form of a Nurse Practitioner or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist this is acceptable.
