Service Stream is seeking a proactive and highly organised Training Coordinator to lead and manage all apprentice, trainee, and field-based training across our Power business in Victoria.

The Opportunity
This role is critical to ensuring workforce capability, safety compliance, and technical competency across our field teams operating within the power distribution environment.
As the Training Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and administering all apprentice, trainee, and field-based training programs across Victoria. You will oversee apprenticeship pathways, coordinate with training providers, and ensure all qualifications, licences, and authorisations remain current to meet regulatory and client requirements.

Key responsibilities
Apprenticeship Program Management
- Coordinate the end-to-end apprenticeship lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, rotations, and completion
- Liaise with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and regulatory/compliance bodies
- Monitor apprentice progress, performance, and competency achievements
- Conduct regular check-ins, mentoring support, and performance reviews
- Align training schedules with operational requirements
Field Training Oversight
- Schedule, track, and deliver mandatory training, refresher courses, and competency assessments for field crews
- Ensure compliance with client training frameworks
- Coordinate annual Verification of Competency (VOC) and reauthorisation processes
- Support Supervisors with workforce capability planning and training needs analysis
Compliance & Record Management
- Maintain accurate digital training records, licences, authorisations, and competencies
- Proactively monitor expiry dates and coordinate renewals
- Ensure all training activities comply with safety, regulatory, and client standards
- Prepare audit-ready documentation for internal and external reviews
Training Administration & Coordination
- Arrange training venues, instructors, materials, and equipment
- Manage the training budget and support efficient procurement of courses
- Build strong relationships with external training providers
- Provide reporting on training metrics, progress, and workforce capability
Continuous Improvement & Workforce Development
- Support the introduction of new training programs aligned with emerging technologies, client requirements, and industry standards
- Partner with operations leadership to identify skill gaps and propose development pathways
- Recommend improvements to apprenticeship, induction, and training frameworks
About You
You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident working within a regulated,
safety-critical environment. You thrive on coordination, stakeholder engagement, and
ensuring compliance standards are consistently met.
Experience required
- Experience coordinating training in a trades, utilities, construction, or electrical services environment
- Strong understanding of apprenticeships and competency-based training
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate training records
- Excellent organisational and scheduling skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
Competencies required
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Knowledge of regulatory training frameworks (e.g., ESI distribution industry)
- Experience with power distribution, electrical safety, or line worker training requirement
