Job Summary: Responsible for the provision of observation and analytical support to trainers during exercises. The Tactical Analyst is the principal interface with Army Observer Trainers on military exercises for the dissemination of simulation information relating to military tactical manoeuvre. The Tactical Analyst is also the primary resource for training military personnel in the operation and maintenance of simulation training equipment.
This role will spend significant time deployed in the field. This position works under general supervision.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assists with the issue and receipt of any and all equipment provided to the customer during the exercise, and received back
• Conduct operator maintenance and function check the Mission System
• Assists in the setup of the Exercise Control Centre (ECC), accommodation and After-Action Review (AAR) facilities
• Conducts pre-exercise training of exercise players
• Operates an analysis station within the control centre for each exercise
• Observe and analyse exercise tactical events in conjunction with Army Observer Trainers to facilitate the production of multimedia product After Action Reviews
• Assists the Army Observer Trainers with the collection and collation of training observations
• Record Observer Trainer observations in Defence lessons database
• Assist in production of the exercise Take Home Pack summarising lessons learned and AARs
• Assists management to refine standard operating procedures are adhered to
• Assists the Engineer Systems with the rationalisation and refinement of SOPs relating to their functional area
• Assists in the setup and pack-up of equipment for training exercises
• Operate support vehicles up to medium rigid

Minimum Job Requirements:
Skills/Experience/Knowledge
• 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
• Eligibility to obtain and hold an Australian Defence Industry security clearance.
• Understands the environment and terminology utilised by Army, specifically in the area of Combined Arms Training up to Combat Team level
• Skilled in using Microsoft Office suite of applications
