Job Summary: This National Guard position is for a TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2422000 and is part of the 151st LRS located in SLC, UT with the Utah Air National Guard. This vacancy is OPEN to current members of the National Guard, and members of the public willing to join the Utah Air National Guard. Major Duties:
Qualifications: *Your resume must reflect in detail how the duties and responsibilities under each position you have held with each employer meets the below listed general and specialized experience required for the position. **Must include beginning and ending dates of employment stated as MM/YYYY; and total hours worked per week in order to determine part time vs. full time credit. Minimum Requirements: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of and understanding of administrative, professional, analytical, or other work relating to traffic or transportation programs or operations. Must be skilled in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships. Experience using computer and automation systems. Specialized Experience GS 7: Must have experience in, or the ability to perform the following tasks under closer than normal supervision; movement of freight or passengers and determining transportation and operating costs. Experience participating in the direction and coordination of traffic management functions. Experience interpreting and providing routine advice on carrier tariffs and related routing guides. Experience in making effective presentations both orally and in writing. Specialized Experience GS 9: Must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-2130-9? (Must provide SF 50 to validate response) OR Experience involving the movement of freight or passengers and determining transportation and operating costs. Experience participating in the direction and coordination of traffic management functions. Experience interpreting and providing routine advice on carrier tariffs and related routing guides. Interpreting regulations/requirements and developing local policies to implement changes effectively. Experience applying applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations concerning transportation and traffic procedures. Experience preparing reports and recommendations involving appeals, special permits, adjustments in rates and charges. Experience which involved negotiations with carriers on individual shipments or traffic movement.
