Traffic Clerk

Job Title: Traffic Clerk 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor 

POSITION SUMMARY: The Traffic Clerk works with various departments and individuals in an organization to ensure materials and resources flow through the company in a timely manner. Traffic Clerks must have good planning skills and the ability to anticipate problems and develop a plan of action to prevent delays in the organization's workflow. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Work with outside customers or internal departments to develop a schedule for the delivery of products or resources.  
  • Monitor the flow of materials or resources through the process to ensure on time delivery.  
  • Troubleshoot problems to make sure a project or process remains on schedule.  
  • Develop work schedules in various departments to ensure work is completed on time.  
  • Must confirm that a work process is progressing on schedule, coordinators monitor communication and work between departments. 
  • May assist with duties on the warehouse floor.  
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.  

 

 

“THE PERSON” | MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • 1 or more years of experience in a warehouse or office setting 
  • Must be well organized, be able to manage time well and have excellent problem-solving abilities.  
  • Must be able to work with a variety of individuals in an organization and must have excellent communication skills.

PHYSICAL OR MENTAL DEMANDS:  

While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to see, hear, talk, write, read, stand, walk, bend over, and be alert at all times. The employee is frequently required to use hands to type, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. While infrequent, employee may need to visit warehouse locations in which employee may need to lift, push, and pull up to 20 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, drive (vehicle), stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.
