Your Role
As a Trade Sales Account Manager (TSAM), you will hold the end-to-end responsibility for managing a portfolio of Trade clients*. Acting as the primary point of contact, you will ensure seamless operational execution and relationship stewardship, driving consistency, scalability, and successful delivery of ING’s full Trade Solutions offering.
You will be accountable for overseeing Wholesale Banking clients’ using ING’s Trade Solutions throughout the lifecycle of deals won, with a strong focus on retaining and expanding existing business through in-contract sales.
Your role is pivotal in identifying upsell opportunities, optimizing solution performance, and maintaining high levels of client engagement.

You will be part of the Central TSAM team in Amsterdam, a dynamic and diverse team of highly motivated professionals with a mission to establish ING as a global player in the evolving Trade market space.
Roles and responsibilities
As a Trade Sales Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing and growing a portfolio of Wholesale Banking Trade clients, with responsibilities spanning the (operational) structuring and execution as well as focusing on revenue growth and strategic program development, including:
- End-to-end responsibility for servicing a portfolio of Wholesale Banking Trade clients, working closely with our Trade Centre of Excellence Team and our central Operations Team.
- Grow the income of your respective portfolio; TS Fee income and Net Interest Income (NII) by leveraging existing relationships.
- Serve as the primary contact for your portfolio of Clients and act as escalation point for any incident or mismatches in the daily operational tasks and settlements
- Responsibility for structuring and implementing the operational setup for new Trade transactions, incl. onboarding of buyers and suppliers, refining the technical interface (formats), as well refining the operational setup to ensure for a smooth and automated daily processing
- Participating in deal teams for new Trade client pitches and contributing to Request for Proposals (RfPs) to increase TS income.
- Proactively conduct client reviews, monitor client revenues, and visit clients to discuss program performance, supplier onboardings campaigns or any other Trade related business
- Ensure appropriate communication with all internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with Know Your Client (KYC) guidelines.
- Identifying and acting upon process improvement opportunities.

The ideal candidate combines deep industry expertise with strong commercial and operational capabilities, and demonstrates the following key skills and experience:
- Proven experience managing complex client relationships across international and multi-market environments, with a strong focus on delivering value in Trade Solutions and Transaction Services space.
- Strong commercial drive paired with sound risk awareness, credit judgement, analytical skills and understanding of Wholesale Banking
- Deep understanding of operational workflows, scalable transaction banking systems, and account management best practices, including familiarity with ING Wholesale Banking (Trade) infrastructure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across seniority levels and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder alignment.
- Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks, take ownership, and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- A proactive team player with a positive attitude, eager to learn, share knowledge, and contribute to a cohesive and client-focused team culture
