Trade Compliance / Logistics Temporary Associate

Brunswick Boat Group · Knoxville, TN

Temporary associate responsible for trade compliance and logistics duties as follows:

  • Shipments to Portugal and Poland
  • Denied party screening review of matches
  • Denied party screening - ad hoc screening
  • 2025 US Custom entry records
  • 2026 US Custom entry records
  • Reports of Items to classify
  • Boat Import process
  • Navan part imports process
  • Export shipments
  • Export documentation Reynosa and/or other items from Reynosa closing
  • Duty drawback an reporting -
  • Audit freight costs on boat imports
  • Section 122 drawback documentation

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Helps in the development of import/export compliance policies and procedures across the boat group, including but not limited to Customs, CTPAT, USMCA, etc.
  • In conjunction with Trade Compliance Team, conduct training and audits, to ensure import/export compliance policies and procedures are followed throughout the Boat Group entities. While overseeing record-keeping related to import-export logistics and compliance
  • Ensures compliance is documented throughout the supply chain by continuously improving and maintaining process flows
  • Provides guidance and practical solutions to stakeholders and service providers on questions related to trade compliance and operations
  • Associate will follow our transborder, compliance, procedures, programs, and standard methodologies with an emphasis on process improvement related to reconciliation and controls for Mexico IMMEX SOPs.
  • Act as liaison between BBG Brands and governmental agencies as needed related to trade compliance issues and perform internal compliance audits, resolve identified issues and perform corrective actions
  • Review and assign product descriptions and technical data to determine import/export classification in accordance with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Commerce Control List (CCL).
  • Coordinate compliance training for relevant personnel across BBG Brands.
  • Assists with day-to-day trade compliance activities such as Import Security Filing (ISF), Denied Party Screening (DPS), Free Trade Agreement (FTA) coordination, create export documentation using Integration Point, development of metrics and understanding Lacey Act requirements.
  • All other special projects and duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Economics, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field.
  • General trade knowledge (North America and EU)
  • Ability to upkeep parts database systematically
  • Manufacturing industry experience is preferred.
  • Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word required.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of management, from clerical staff to senior executives (i.e., influence others and gain buy-in).
  • Highly organized, process oriented, creative problem solver able to work in fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
  • Commitment to professionalism, ethics, and integrity.
  • Generates and/or pilots alternative solutions, providing recommendations to address root causes, and influences decisions on the appropriate course of action.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm in his/her work and possesses ability to inspire and influence others to perform at high levels.
  • Demonstrates willingness to take on new tasks and drives individual development.
