For the expansion of our Tax team, argenx is looking for a Manager in Trade Tax and Indirect Tax compliance.
This is a new role, Ghent (Belgium) based, in an exciting and dynamic business environment. The role consists of a unique opportunity to help contribute to a best-in-class indirect tax practice within a tax department that is continuously evolving to meet the business needs.
Partner closely with the rest of the (Indirect) Tax Department, Supply Chain, Finance and other functions globally to support trade and indirect tax compliance activities.
Coordinate and maintain customs authorizations, including Inward Processing Relief (IPR) license, ensuring compliance and related reporting obligations.
Proactively manage the day-to-day collaboration with advisors and review the outsourced VAT returns, Intrastat returns, and other (real time) indirect tax reporting.
Monitor changes in business operations (e.g. new product offerings or expansion into additional jurisdictions), assess the impact on trade taxes and implement necessary changes.
Assist in automation and systems configuration of indirect tax (Oracle Cloud), working proactively in conjunction with advisors, Finance and BIS to provide requirements and develop solutions.
Develop internal controls, process improvement, standard work, and other policies for trade tax and indirect tax compliance.
Provide trainings to various internal stakeholders on relevant technical or systems developments and process changes.
Manage trade tax and indirect tax compliance audits and develop relationships with tax authorities.
Monitor international tax legislative developments and other changes in guidance or practice (particularly tariffs and customs duties) with timely communication of potential impact to argenx.
Experience in a biotech, pharma or life science company is preferred.
Degree in Law / Tax / Accounting / Finance.
Results driven team player with excellent communication skills.
Strategic but excited to be “hands-on” and detailed.
Able to work independently.
Knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle Cloud) and interest in tax digitization in general.
Fluent in Dutch and English, other languages is a plus.
The role is Ghent based (Belgium).
