Under indirect supervision, a Tractor Trailer Operator (TTO) operates a wide range of vehicles and equipment to facilitate the movement of freight for the enterprise. TTO’s are expected to be available for call-out, extension of the workday and scheduled weekend work in support of the enterprise. TTO’S are also required to be available for major storm support in all regions of the enterprise.
Responsible for the timely, safe and cost-effective delivery and pick-up of all assigned material and equipment.
Operate road tractors with various trailers, and material handling equipment, such as industrial forklifts and attachments.
Operate mobile cranes and attachments.
Load, unload and properly secure a variety of cargo and electrical equipment.
Responsible for the proper documentation of Logs, Bills of Ladings, Equipment Inspections, Time Reporting and other required record keeping.
Accountable for adherence to; DOT/FMCSA Regulations, Company Policies, Departmental Policies and Safe Work Practices.
Maintain work equipment and area in a clean, orderly condition, continuously observe Company safety rules and practices, check condition of safety equipment, attend and participate in scheduled training, safety meetings and be thoroughly familiar with the safety rules and established Company safety policies and other related procedures as prescribed by the Company.
Perform other similar or less skilled work.
High School Diploma/GED
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) with the ability to obtain a Hazardous Material endorsement
Ability to obtain necessary crane certifications
Demonstrated safe driving record
Physically able to lift, push and pull up to 50 Lbs
Basic Computer Skills to use Microsoft Office products
Basic use of smartphone applications
1+ Years of experience driving combination vehicles. (i.e. road tractors and semi-trailers)
Previous forklift experience and ability to pass the Operator course and become certified
Crane Certification
Demonstrated effective communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with teammates, internal and external customers and suppliers
Field Mobility Classification – Work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. However, field employees are required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location.
Ability to obtain necessary mobile crane certifications and their attachments
Ability to meet DOT and Crane physical requirements
Ability to comply with all federal regulations, company policies and departmental policies
