We make health happen

At Bupa, we’re here to help people live longer, healthier, happier lives and make a better world. That purpose sits at the heart of everything we do — including how we manage risk and work with third‑party partners across our insurance businesses.

As our Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) Manager – Insurance, you’ll play a key role in keeping our organisation safe, resilient and responsibly run. You’ll help make sure our UK Insurance (UKI) and BG insurance teams meet regulatory expectations and manage all third‑party risks in a consistent, confident and transparent way. Your work helps protect our customers, builds trust, and ensures that our services continue to deliver high‑quality care and support.

This role sits within BGIUK’s TPRM Function, part of the BGIUK Legal team, and contributes directly to our wider purpose by helping colleagues understand and embed strong, practical risk management across their everyday work.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Monitor how well the TPRM Framework is implemented and embedded across our UKI and BG insurance businesses.
  • Give clear, practical advice to Accountable Executives and Relationship Owners so they understand and meet TPRM requirements with confidence.
  • Carry out first‑line assurance activities, helping teams recognise strengths, address gaps and continuously improve.
  • Deliver tailored TPRM training across UKI and BG so colleagues feel supported and capable in managing third‑party risks.
  • Collate, monitor and report on key TPRM indicators, controls and remediation plans to ensure risks are visible and well‑managed.
  • Oversee and monitor that each business area has the right resources and capability to deliver its TPRM responsibilities.
  • Work within Bupa policies, frameworks and regulatory standards, supporting stakeholders to uphold obligations under the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR).

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who brings deep expertise, a collaborative style and a practical mindset. You’ll have:

  • Extensive experience in Third Party Risk Management, including TPRM strategies, frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • A strong track record of leading TPRM activity in a large and complex organisation.
  • The ability to lead with positivity, practicality and inclusion — inspiring confidence in others.
  • Experience of building and leading high‑performing teams.
  • The ability to work effectively in a matrix environment and build strong relationships with peers and senior leaders.
  • Advanced understanding of enterprise risk management, control testing, risk assessments and TPRM‑related industry standards.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills, using data to guide discussions and decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge when needed in a supportive and constructive way.
  • The ability to balance long‑term strategy with daily operational demands.
