Job Summary: This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position serves as a Tool Room Attendant for the Ammunition Operations Production and Maintenance Division, receiving, storing, identifying, issuing, and delivering items used by production personnel

Major Duties:

  • Manage inventory for shop personnel, including the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials.
  • Check incoming stock shipments for accuracy and report overages, shortages, or damaged items.
  • Store items in established locations and set up locations for new items.
  • Conduct and manage inventory counts, missing items, and location setup.
  • Issue and process returned items.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Tools and Parts Attendant ~ without more than normal supervision. Must possess the ability to perform common duties which include interpreting and applying warehouse plans and methods to perform warehousing techniques such as receiving, storing, issuing and re-warehousing materials. I can check numbers and names of items on container labels to receive documents. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT Performs work on hard surfaces and work areas that require intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, and bending. Intermittently lifts and carries items up to 20 pounds. Hand trucks, forklifts, dollies, and other workers are available for assistance with heavier items. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed in areas with various degrees of heating, cooling, ventilation, and lighting. Is exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises. The wearing of safety shoes and safety glasses is required. Indoor/outdoor work is required regardless of prevailing weather conditions.
