Job Description:

AriensCo is seeking a motivated and passionate Tooling Programmer to join our team at Plant 3 in Brillion, WI. This role is critical in driving innovation and efficiency within our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for the specification, testing, installation, and documentation of welding and automation technology, sensors, electrical switches, and die protection equipment used in “right-sized” machinery, dies, weld fixtures, and gages. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, Lean manufacturing environment and enjoys working collaboratively across multiple teams.

  • Pay:  Starts at $26/hour + $2,000 sign on bonus

  • Schedule & Shift:  Monday - Thursday (4 days x 10 hours); 4:30AM-2:30PM

THE DAY TO DAY...

  • Collaborate with machine design staff, tool and die makers, production personnel, and management to identify and implement effective automation solutions for in-house built equipment (e.g., drilling units, welders, benders, brakes).
  • Design, build, and program PLCs, drives, vision systems, and other automation equipment, including safety devices, transfer devices, stacking equipment, and pick-and-place units.
  • Evaluate costs and feasibility for machine and automation requests.
  • Partner with vendors to select appropriate hardware and software for each application, while developing new technology sources.
  • Assist in machinery specification, cell layout, parts flow, placement, cost reduction, and training
  • Work with tool design staff, tool and die makers, production supervisors, and robot weld technicians to prevent defective parts through fixture design (robotic weld, hand weld, machining, inspection fixtures).
  • Integrate automation technology for part presence detection, proper placement, clamp monitoring, and quick-check gauging.
  • Ensure fixture designs incorporate optimal weld gun angles and leverage the latest welding techniques.
  • Communicate fixture-related details to design teams for accurate CAD integration and floor implementation.
  • Collaborate with toolmakers and robot technicians to ensure proper installation and functionality of automation technology.

THE QUALIFICATIONS...

  • Education: Two-year certificate from a college or technical school required.
  • Experience: Minimum two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of PLC programming, automation systems, and fixture design.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a Lean manufacturing environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with evolving technologies.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Pro-Engineer, or Solid Works Design software, Internet Explorer software, Microsoft Word and Excel as well as working knowledge of various PLC languages and automation software
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours a day
