Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is currently seeking Tooling Engineers to support our Tooling Engineering team at our Bacchus (Magna), Utah facility.
Candidate will be responsible for the concept, design, engineering, fabrication drawings, inspection requirements, procurement requirements, verification requirements, and fabrication support for tooling and equipment for Aerospace applications
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
· Work with internal Customers to concept needed support equipment for new and existing programs
· Developing tooling concepts, creating/reviewing and improving manufacturing processes to meet Customer requirements
· Work closely with Tool Designers to create final drawings.
· Perform stress analysis to assure mechanical soundness per NG requirements
· Understand/monitor cost and schedule
· Review engineering drawings and designs for manufacturability
· Interface with the review team to assure customer satisfaction with the design
· Manages projects and coordinates all procurements and fabrication to meet the program cost and schedule requirements
· Inspect fabricated support hardware to ensure compliance to the design
· Work alongside the manufacturing team to ensure overall program quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved
· Support vendors as needed during fabrication
· Inspect tool configuration for drawing compliance, including fit, form, and function
· Support continuous improvement
· Support Operations and Process Engineering in the use of all tooling

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
Level 3
· Bachelor of Science in (STEM) Mechanical Engineering
· Minimum 5 years of technical experience in engineering, design, and fabrication of special tooling and related equipment ; 3 years of experience with a Master's Degree, 1 PHD.
· Demonstrated ability to evaluate vendor and equipment capability and ability to perform required tasks to include production of tooling as well as unique aerospace part production.
· Experience with closed form and FE analysis practices; Prefer NX and ANSYS software systems.
· NX modeling experience.
Level 4
Bachelor of Science in (STEM) Mechanical Engineering
· Minimum 8 years of technical experience in engineering, design, and fabrication of special tooling and related equipment; 6 years of experience with a Master's Degree, 4 PHD.
· Demonstrated ability to evaluate vendor and equipment capability and ability to perform required tasks to include production of tooling as well as unique aerospace part production.
· Experience with closed form and FE analysis practices; Prefer NX and ANSYS software systems.
· NX modeling experience.
Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
