Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Tool Shop Line MFT (Manufacturing Facilitation Technician) to join our Tool shop team based in Mobile, AL.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Manufacturing Tooling Specialist (MFT) to join our production support team in Mobile, AL. In this role, you will be the primary owner of tool accountability, process improvement, and safety compliance. You will ensure that our production floor is equipped with calibrated, safe, and efficient tools while maintaining rigorous digital tracking standards.

Your Challenges:
Primary Responsibilities:
Daily Operations & Floor Management 10%
Safety & Compliance: Conduct daily floor walks to identify damaged tools or safety hazards. Perform scheduled toolbox audits to ensure 5S and safety standards are met. 5%
Shift Coordination: Participate in L1 and L2 SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People) meetings to align on production alerts and escalate immediate issues. 5%
Tool Maintenance: Manage the calibration lifecycle by identifying expiring tools, collecting them from the floor, and distributing newly calibrated replacements. 10%
Systems & Inventory Tracking 10%
Data Integrity: Maintain real-time tracking of every tool movement using SAP. 10%
Software Management: Utilize TMIP, Nexcap, and MES to monitor tool data, compliance, and production disruptions. 10%
Documentation: Update inventory logs and process tool change requests via Google Drive and internal management systems. 10%
Procurement & Project Support. 10%
Lifecycle Management: Track tool orders from procurement to delivery, following up on ETAs to ensure production continuity. 10%
Process Improvement: Assist in the implementation of special project tasks aimed at optimizing tool flow and floor efficiency. 10%

Your boarding pass:
An Associate's degree is required.
Required Experience:
Professional Experience: Minimum of 2+ years experience in tool management, calibration, or quality control.
Proven ability to manage complex calibration schedules and maintain 100% tool accountability.
Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is highly preferred.
Comfortable using specialized tool management software (TMIP / Nexcap) and Google Drive.
Advanced knowledge of Google Sheets and/or MS Excel for tracking and reporting.
Communication & Physical Requirements.
Effective verbal and written skills for reporting and inter-departmental coordination.
Ability to walk the production floor daily and handle tool distribution.
Physical Requirements:
Vision: Able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
Hearing: Able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
Speaking: Able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
Equipment Operation: Able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
Carrying: Able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
Lifting: Able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
Pushing/Pulling: Able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
Sitting: Able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.
Squatting/Kneeling: Able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
Standing: Able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
Travel: Able to travel independently and at short notice.
Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
