YOUR ROLE
In your daily job you will:
- Analyze CAD data, 2D drawings, 3D Models of products as the same as customer specifications to define product moldability & manufacturability
- Identify risks related to geometry, wall thickness, draft, undercuts, and tolerances
- Recommend design changes to improve quality, tooling feasibility, and cost
- Participate in design reviews with Product Engineering teams
- Analyze gate location, runner balance, cooling efficiency, and venting
- Participate in Mold Flow reviews to predict potential defects and consider those during tool design
- Create tooling concepts for tooling vendors to optimize cost and manufacturability.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for those products.
- Support RFQ processes and quote preparation
- Launch the projects when TRA approved
- Review tool designs are suitable for tool building and maintenance
- Coordinate with tool builders and vendors during design reviews
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, tooling standards, and internal guidelines
- Release drawings and models when TMA process is approved
- Maintain organized CAD data and revision control.
- Manage engineering changes when are required
- Support lessons-learned implementation in future designs
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers
- Participate in continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
YOUR BACKGROUND
Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:
- Completed bachelor's degree
+6 years of experience in injection mold design
Experience in industries such as automotive, aerospace, or medical
U.S Visa
- Understanding of tooling principles
- Ability to analyze part designs for manufacturability & moldability (DFM)
- Proficiency in technical drawings interpretation (GD&T, tolerances)
- Knowledge of mold components, also gates, runners, cooling, ejection.
- Knowledge of steel selection, heat treatment, and surface finishes
- CAD proficiency, NX preferred
- Experience supporting tool tryouts, troubleshooting
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts
- Experience participating in design reviews and cross functional meetings
- Ability to challenge quotations and identify cost optimization opportunities
- Hands on tool building or mold maintenance experience
- Advanced English: written and spoken
- Knowledge of plastic materials, properties, and processing behavior is preferred
