Job Description
Leadership position responsible for overseeing the title release process to achieve business objectives. Supervises title release representatives, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability to drive performance, ensure compliance, and enhance operations.
Oversees daily operations of the title release process, ensuring accurate and timely processing in accordance with state, federal, and company requirements.
Manages the title release team by providing coaching, performance feedback, and training to ensure individual and team success.
Monitors and evaluates team performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics to ensure that service level agreements (SLAs) and departmental goals are met.
Resolves escalated and complex title issues, including discrepancies in lien data, title perfection, and customer complaints. Ensures the timely release of vehicle titles for paid-off loans.
Reviews and approves title release documentation, including lien release forms and supporting documents.
Ensures audit readiness by maintaining accurate and compliant title release records.
Collaborates with internal teams (e.g. Compliance, Loan Servicing, Legal, Total Loss, Asset Remarketing) and external partners (e.g. dealerships, lienholders, title agencies) to ensure seamless coordination of title release activities minimize risk, and provide timely resolution.
Reports operational performance and risk trends to leadership, providing insights and recommendations for strategic improvement.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent, degree preferred
Work Experience: 6+ relevant experience, 2+ progressive leadership experience
Significant experience in title release, loan servicing, or a related field.
Advanced knowledge of vehicle title release processes, lien filings, and regulatory requirements governing vehicle titles, liens, and title transfers.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to hire, train, and develop direct reports.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse audiences and maintain strong relationships.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively identify problems and develop solutions.
Good organizational skills, with the ability to pay strict attention to detail and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to handle sensitive customer information with discretion, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy laws.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and title management systems or loan servicing software.
