Job Summary: About the Position: Located at the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCOE), Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation Ft Benning, GA 31905. Major Duties:

  • Perform professional instructional duties in a graduate level academic environment for Spanish language courses such as the Intermediate Level Command, and General Staff Officer Course, Joint Operations Course, and the Captains Career Course.
  • Revise, evaluate, adapt, prepare, design, research, and teach PME curricula.
  • Develop, revise, evaluate, and present subjects relative to graduate level resident and non-resident instruction in an adult experiential learning environment.
  • Conduct curriculum development activities for assigned lessons and development and management of graduate level PME.
  • Act as Small Group Advisor and/or perform leader performance coaching duties for a student staff group.
  • Assist in preparation of graduate level course syllabi, lesson plans, practical exercises, visual aids, support requests, and other instructional support requirements.
  • Serve as a faculty Member in the School of Professional Military Education (SPME) and conduct Unified Land Operations instruction in the Professional Military Education courses Captain through Colonels.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Masters Degree Requirement: All applicants must possess a Masters Degree from a regionally accredited college or university. In addition to meeting the Masters Degree requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: AND Military Education Requirement: This position requires the incumbent must be a graduate of an Intermediate Level Education (ILE) graduate, or Command and General Staff Officer Course, or its equivalent. NOTE Military Education: You must attach copies of your transcripts, certificate of completion, DD214 Member Copy 4 showing the course under the education portion or other documentation for the above course. AND Specialized Experience: Your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience in 1) teaching, training, or mentoring an adult education/program at the Federal or State level; 2) developing and revising course material; 3) preparing and reviewing course syllabi, lesson plans for curriculum. Selective Placement Factor: This position requires fluency in the Spanish language. Academic rank and salary will be determined based on the selectee's education and experience as outlined in the Title 10 Civilian Faculty Manual. This position will be filled at one of the following academic ranks: You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Knowledge of Joint and Army Doctrine Experience in planning at the Operational Level of War at the field grade level Level of responsibility attained in the area of professional expertise Teaching small group facilitation, competency in curriculum development, competency in assessing graduate level work. This position can be filled at one of the following academic ranks: Instructor Assistant Professor Associate Professor Professor Academic rank and salary will be determined based on the selectee's education and experience.
